What is conversation intelligence?
Conversation intelligence is software that records, transcribes and analyzes sales conversations to surface deal risks, coaching moments and trends across a team. It captures meetings, phone and video conversations, turns speech into searchable text, and flags moments such as a competitor mention or a pricing objection.
Why it matters to a revenue leader
A sales manager can ride along with a few sellers a week. Conversation intelligence lets the manager hear what buyers say across the whole team, which turns coaching from anecdote into evidence. The manager still decides what to coach and why. The tools also carry legal duties: federal law allows recording when one party consents, but several states, including California and Pennsylvania, require consent from everyone in the conversation. When participants sit in different states, the safest course is consent from all parties. For a services company selling across many states, the consent notice is a policy decision for the leader and counsel.
Example
Fictitious numbersA fire and life safety company reviews 300 recorded customer meetings from one quarter. Competitor pricing comes up in 41 of them, almost all in two branches. The regional manager spends the next month coaching those sellers on how they defend the value of annual inspection agreements.
"What did buyers tell us this month that never made it into the CRM?"
